Apple is currently developing its own AI chatbot, tentatively named Apple GPT, to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard. The company has built its own framework, codenamed Ajax, to create large language models, and is testing the chatbot internally for product prototyping. Some engineers have reported that the tool is replicating the functionality of ChatGPT, Bard, and Bing AI, and works as a web application. While Apple is making strides in artificial intelligence, it is still determining a strategy for making this technology available to consumers. Unlike OpenAI, which has released several open-source generative models, Apple has not yet made any of its AI models open-source.
